Cloudy Eclipse

Despite lots of children coming in very tired after a late night at the theatre, they all worked hard this morning. We first watched the Newsround Live show about the eclipse. We all went outside to observe the changes in temperature and to see it getting darker. Birds were going to sleep too. Ciaran said that he felt the air was getting thicker. Next we all went out in small groups to try out the glasses but we couldn’t see anything. Finally the sun made an appearance but the light wasn’t strong enough and no one could see it through the glasses. It was safer to go inside and watch it on Newsround, just in case someone was tempted to look without glasses. We learned about different types of eclipses and we started a short recount.

  1. What an interesting time you have all had with the wonderful performance at Let’s Dance and a chance to learn about eclipses, although it was a shame it was so cloudy in the south. Well done all of you, teachers and pupils, for the performance at Let’s Dance. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
