India and Diwali

When we arrived at school today, we made our passports and visas first.

Then it was time to board the plane.

On the plane we fastened our seat belts and we listened to the safety announcement.

When the plane took off, we all fell backwards!

On the way we had drinks and dinners and we also slept for a while.

We arrived in Delhi and we had to go on the bus. It was bumpy. India looked very different because there were no road markings and there is a lot of traffic and beeping of horns.

We then did lots of activities. We learned about nature and different environments in India, about different house styles, rangoli patterns, mendhi patterns, Hindi writing, the story of Rama and Sita, Indian dance, the national anthem. We also made spice pictures and cooked a curry!

  2. Hello Kingfishers … You had quite an adventure learning about India and Diwali. Their culture is so different but your teachers were creative in bringing it alive for you. What an enjoyable day you must have had. Ruby’s Nana & Grandpa in Michigan, USA
